Sophie is a freelance curatorial and collections management consultant. She has over a decade of experience working with both private and public art collections, with a particular focus on country house collections. Sophie has a BA (Hons), MA and PhD in History of Art from the University of York, and her doctoral thesis was an interdisciplinary consideration of arms and armour in Early Modern English portraiture.

In between studying for her PhD and working in various curatorial positions, Sophie has also been involved in organising and managing various arts and heritage events including international conferences, symposiums, film screenings, music festivals and pop-up exhibitions. In 2022, Sophie co-edited a collection of dress history essays, Disseminating Dress: Britain's Fashion Networks, which was published by Bloomsbury
